Available digitally for the first time, this new album BOLCOM PLAYS BOLCOM features the 1971 live recording of Bolcom's first set of piano etudes composed between the years 1959-66.
Williams Bolcom is one of the premiere composers of the second half of the 20th C., and he is also part of the tradition of composer-pianists. This incredible document from the archives shows Bolcom at his most virtuosic and eclectic embodying an idealism and verve of a young composer, while showing hints that his later style would fully embrace.
